Air fryer pancakes are a quick and easy breakfast recipe that’s perfect for busy mornings. This recipe takes the classic pancake and gives it a fun twist by cooking them in individual tart forms using an air fryer.
Not only does this method create perfectly shaped pancakes every time, but the air fryer also cooks them up quickly and evenly without the need for flipping or messy pans. Plus, since they’re made in individual servings, they’re great for serving a crowd or portion control.
The air fryer makes quick meals so much easier. Did you know you can make homefries in the air fryer? For a special weekend or holiday breakfast, try these air fryer donuts, too!

Recipe Notes and Tips
- You can make this using homemade pancake batter if you wish.
- Add berries, bananas, or chocolate chips to your pancakes. you can drop them in the batter after you’ve filled your tart pans and bake as usual.
- Don’t overmix your pancake batter. A few little lumps are fine in pancake batter, but if you overmix, you could end up with flat, dry pancakes.
Can I make this gluten-free?
Absolutely. I made this using a gluten-free pancake mix. I prefer Bob’s Red Mill Pancake Mix, but any store-bought pancake mix will work fine with these instructions.
How to Store Leftover Pancakes
If you have leftovers, you can eat them for breakfast tomorrow. Wrap them in plastic wrap and keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. They’ll get drier the longer they’re in the fridge, so I recommend eating them up as soon as you can.
Can I make pancakes ahead of time?
Yes, you can make these pancakes and freeze them for another day. This is a great way to have easy breakfasts ready in the freezer for days. Go ahead and make as many pancakes as you would like to store. Then, wrap the pancakes in portions and place them in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag. They’ll stay fresh for up to 2 months.
When you’re ready to eat them, pull as many portions as you need out of the freezer. Microwave in 10-15 second bursts until hot.
How to Reheat Air Fryer Pancakes
You can microwave your pancakes in 10-15 second bursts. You can also place thawed pancakes back in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes.

FAQs
Yes, you can use any non-dairy milk you’d like. Keep in mind, if the milk you’re using is thinner than regular cow’s milk, you might want to reduce the amount. Just add the milk slowly, stirring until you reach the proper consistency.
If you make the batter the night before, your baking soda and baking powder (already in the pancake mix) will begin to lose their effectiveness. So, your pancakes might be flatter and not as light and fluffy. If you really need to make the batter the night before, add 1/4 tsp of both baking soda and powder in the morning and whisk together well.
Yes! You can bake all kinds of things in the air fryer. Like these pancakes, baking in the air fryer can be very simple and much faster than using the oven. The instructions for baking in the air fryer are usually a bit different than the instructions for baking in the oven, so look up the directions for your recipe before starting your recipe.
