Hot Pockets in the air fryer produce a crispy, golden exterior with an evenly heated and flavorful filling. The hot air circulating in the air fryer crisps up the pastry shell and gives it a crunchy texture, similar to what you would get from oven baking. While microwaving a Hot Pocket may be a convenient option, using an air fryer can result in a more satisfying and flavorful experience.
The air fryer makes whipping up afternoon snacks a breeze. When the kids come home, surprise them with air fryer pizza rolls or wonton mozzarella sticks!
What are Hot Pockets?
Hot Pockets are the brand name for a popular frozen snack food. These snacks resemble pocket-style sandwiches and typically contain cheese along with meat and/or vegetables. They’re traditionally cooked in the oven or microwave as snacks to children or teenagers. They’re also commonly served as a light lunch.

Ingredients
- 1 box Hot Pockets
How to Make
STEP ONE: Prep the Hot Pockets. Place a small piece of parchment paper on the air fryer try. Unwrap the Hot Pockets and place them onto the parchment paper. Discard the crisper tray and all packaging.
STEP TWO: Air Fry. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Air fry for 6-8 minutes or until the outside turns golden brown.
STEP THREE: Serve. Serve hot.
Recipe Notes and Tips:
- Unlike the microwave, you don’t need the crisper tray. It might catch on fire in the air fryer! So you can throw it away.
- Use parchment. It will help the bottoms of your Hot Pockets brown without burning. It will also make cleaning up super easy!
- Preheat your air fryer. Let it come all the way up to temperature. If not, the outside might cook faster than the inside, and the inside might end up too cool.
Can I store leftover Hot Pockets?
Yup! If you don’t finish your Hot Pocket, you can keep the rest for later. Just store it in the fridge, wrapped in plastic wrap, for up to 3 days.
We don’t recommend re-freezing Hot Pockets.
You can reheat your Hot Pockets in the microwave, or use the air fryer. Place them back in the air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes, or until hot through.
